Default C5 power seats question

I recently purchased a 1998 vette conv. Power driver and passenager seats. Both seats move back and forth on their own. I mean like when I brake, both seats move forward and then back. Forward and back. Somebody told me to lower the seats all the way down and it would stop but it didn't. Any ideas?

Default c5 seats

this is a problem on certain early c5's. I have an early 98 and had the problem with the drivers seat. There is a service bulletin, but no recall.
You will have to replace the lower frame on each seat as there is no way to stop the movement as the acme threaded rod bushings are defective.
It is not difficult (took about 2 hours) but the frames are really expensive (about 800 bucks each, retail) and chvy wants about the same to replace them.

Default thanks

I appreciate the information. That's alot of money to repair the seats but it's got to be done. It drives me crazy. Thanks again.

My 98 coupe also has this seat moving problem. Is this an issue I must repair or will it be just pain to live with if i do not fix it?
