2003 Chevrolet Corvette

Contributed by Mike Antonick, Editor "Corvette Black Book"

This model marked the Corvette's 50th anniversary. While Z06 continued with minimal changes, coupe and convertible models were available with a 50th Anniversary Edition which included Anniversary Red "Xirallic" exterior paint, a unique two-tone Shale interior, special identifiers, and RPO F55 Magnetic Selective Ride. The latter was a new adjustable suspension package with faster response times and was also available on base coupes and convertibles, but not with Z06.

Standard equipment for coupes and convertibles included previously optional foglamps, sport seats, power passenger seat, dual-zone air conditioning, and, for coupes, the parcel net and luggage shade. All 2003 models had new LATCH child seat hooks designed into the passenger seat. A 2003 Corvette 50th Anniversary coupe paced the 2002 Indianapolis 500. Total production was 35,469, split 12,812 coupe, 14,022 convertible, and 8,635 for the Z06 hardtop. The anniversary editions with exclusive Anniversary Red paint were hot sellers at 11,632 (4,085 coupe and 7,547 convertible). White, the only color available fifty years earlier, was 2003's rarest color with 679 sold.
