2004 Chevrolet Corvette

This last of the fifth generation had optional Commemorative packages for all models to honor Corvette's success at LeMans with its C5-R racer. All Commemoratives had LeMans Blue paint and special trim; Commemorative coupes and convertibles had Shale interiors and polished 5-spoke wheels. Commemorative Z06 hardtops had black interiors, carbon fiber hoods, red and silver C5-R-style striping for hood, roof and rear deck, and polished Z06 wheels. All Z06s had upgraded suspensions.

A 2004 Corvette convertible paced the 2004 Indianapolis 500. The Commemorative Editions sold well, so LeMans Blue was the top exterior color at 6,899. Arctic White was a new formulation and replaced Speedway White, but 2004's Artic White was the year's low seller at 1,741. Overall total production was 34,064, with 16,165 coupes, 12,216 convertibles, and 5,683 Z06 hardtops built. The 2004 Cadillac XLR, a luxury two-seater with a power retractable hardtop, went into production on a separate line at Corvette's Bowling Green plant.
